Bruges Video
April 26/08 - We took the morning train from Brussels to Bruges. Rented bicycles from the train station, had to pay for whole day even though we were going to use them for half a day. Half day rate applied only for second half of the day, i.e. afternoon - evening.
Bruges was cycling and walking haven - very few cars, good cycling path. Unlike Amsterdam which is hazardous for cycling tourists, Bruges is a breeze.
The beginhof was tranquil and peaceful, the canals scenic, the town architecture old and gothic, the chocolates mouth-watering. If you like ice-cream - check out Da Vinci, a short walk from market square, get a cone of ice cream and you can use the toilet.
And... people here are friendly and speak English. Met a lady walking two beautiful Japanese Chins (dogs) - Doris, if you read this - hi!
Most of us were sad when we had to leave this lovely town when we continued our journey to Paris. We vowed to come back some time in the future and spend at least a night.
